Milwaukee’s well-known vinyl shop, Atomic Records, announced plans last week to close its doors in February. Owner Rich Menning explained that after 24 years, the “decline of the music industry combined with the recent economic downturn” have made it impossible to remain open for business.It’s sad to see such a beloved, indie-stocked, locally-owned vinyl shop close its doors. As I'm sure you can imagine, good vinyl shops are tough to come by these days, and Atomic was definitely the best in Milwaukee.
