Feel Like Gettin' Crafty?

I was paging through the newest Garnet Hill (clothing and home design) catalog last night when I came upon an interesting product that would make for a fun holiday craft project. I love crafts :) Pictured left is the Ribbon Rag Wreath. It's priced at $58, and the catalog offers the following product description:

Snippets of fabric and ribbon create the warm holiday color in this hand-tied wreath. A red ribbon loops around the top for hanging; raw edges on the fabric remnants enhance the handcrafted look.

I think this would be an easy enough project to do at home: simply find holiday-ish fabrics and tie scraps of it around a styrofoam circle or some wire. It sure would be a whole lot cheaper to do it yourself. And way more fun!

When you were younger I use to make these.... Back then they must not have been cool... You need to get one of those metal rings that have a couple of layers. I'll find a sample and show you.

I thought the same thing Jack, as soon as I saw the photo it reminded me of the ones we used to make...our fabric was a bit funkier though....

Try it Kristin, it is really easy. For a whole lot less than$58 Barb

Barb, do you remember the wreath frames we used? I showed Kristin a picture of the frame, just not sure where they sell them. If Kristin stops home, she can take cuts from all my Christmas fabric.
